Responsibility of Students

  • Students must maintain proper conduct and show respect to teachers and staff at all times. Food and drinks are not allowed in the classroom.
  • The use of hand phones during lessons and exams is not permitted – all such equipment must be switched off. Students are expected to be attentive during lessons and participate constructively in the learning environment.
  • Video taking during class lessons is not allowed.
  • Listening to audio devices or viewing video devices (e.g., YouTube, TikTok or any other multimedia players) is prohibited during class time.
  • Students must respond to the rollcall for their own attendance and are not allowed to respond on behalf of classmates or instruct others to do likewise – this may result in warning letters or expulsion for repeated offenses.

  • Students must not make boisterous behavior, harassment, intimidation, or discrimination that disturbs others on or off the premises.
  • No running around the college premises or playing with lifts is permitted.
  • Students should maintain orderly conduct at all times and observe proper manners.
  • No littering, spitting, or any form of vandalizing act is allowed in public areas.
  • Students must report any damage to school property to the nearest instructor, lecturer, or staff member immediately.

  • For the privacy and safety of both staff and students, access to staff areas is strictly controlled.
  • Students are not permitted to enter the staff counter, management offices, or teachers’ rooms unless they have received prior permission from authorized personnel.
  • This ensures that staff have a dedicated space to carry out their academic and administrative duties without disruption, while also maintaining a professional and secure environment within the school.
  • Students who need assistance should approach the reception counter or contact the relevant staff member through the proper communication channels.

  • Any form of vandalism or theft will not be tolerated.
  • Students found guilty of vandalism will be severely dealt with.
  • This includes intentional damage to school property such as drawing on tables/walls or jumping on chairs.
  • Students must always report any damage to school property to the nearest instructor, lecturer, or staff. An act of vandalism is strictly prohibited, and students will be required to pay for any wilful damage to the school’s equipment, properties, and facilities.

  • Students must abide by all safety procedures and ensure proper handling of all equipment and school properties.
  • The student responsible for any damage will be required to pay for any wilful damage to equipment/properties and facilities.
  • Students are expected to comply with all legal obligations concerning copyrights and shall not install any software or data into the school’s computers or copy any software or data from school computers.
  • Unauthorized removal of books from the library is strictly prohibited.

  • Stanfort Academy maintains a strict no-smoking policy to promote a safe, healthy, and comfortable environment for all students, staff, and visitors.
  • Smoking is strictly prohibited at all times within the school premises, including classrooms, offices, corridors, restrooms, and all surrounding areas such as entrances, outdoor spaces, and carparks.
  • This policy applies to cigarettes, e-cigarettes, vapes, and all other tobacco-related products. These are strictly prohibited by law and banned in the school premises
  • By upholding this rule, the Academy reinforces its commitment to student well-being and aligns with Singapore’s national health and safety regulations. Anyone found violating this policy may be subject to disciplinary action.

Vaping is strictly prohibited in Singapore under the Tobacco (Control of Advertisements and Sale) Act. Stanfort Academy enforces a zero-tolerance policy towards vaping. Students are strictly prohibited from possessing, using, or distributing any form of vaping devices on or near Academy premises.

If a student is found engaging in vaping activities within the school premises:

  • The device will be confiscated immediately
  • The student will face strict disciplinary action, including provisional expulsion
  • In serious cases, the matter may be reported to police or relevant law enforcement authorities

All students are expected to uphold the laws of Singapore and the standards of conduct set by the school. Stanfort Academy is committed to providing a safe, healthy, and lawful learning environment for all.

Students are subject to immediate expulsion for serious misconduct and/or any breach of school rules and regulations. The school reserves the right to provisionally expel any student who:

  • Has not made payment or exceeded payment deadline by more than 1 month as stated in the student contract
  • Does not attend classes for more than seven (7) consecutive school days without valid reason
  • Receives 3 written warning letters from school for violation of school rules
  • Commits offenses against Singapore law or brings the school into disrepute
  • Persistently misbehaves despite advice and warnings
  • Engages in cheating during examinations/or any kind of misconduct
  • Forges medical certificates or other official documents

International students holding Student Pass must observe ICA rules and regulations. Any breach may result in rejection of Student Pass application or cancellation of Student Pass.

Students have the right to appeal against the provisional expulsion with documented evidence within 7 working days. An administrative fee of S$100 applies for appeal requests.

  • When students change their address or contact numbers, they are obligated by school rules to inform the administration immediately.
  • Students must complete the Contact Update Form, obtainable from administrative staff.
  • The school is not responsible for delays or non-notification of changes to course schedules, examination dates, or other important information if students fail to update their contact details promptly.

  • Access to the school’s computer systems and network facilities requires students to accept certain responsibilities and obligations.
  • Students must comply with all legal obligations concerning copyrights and shall not install any software or data into school computers or copy any software or data from school computers.
  • Students caught infringing the Copyright Act by authorities will be personally liable.
  • All data must be saved to personal storage devices (floppy disk/thumb drive) at the end of each lesson.
  • The school will not be responsible for any data lost, and data saved on local hard drives is at the student’s own risk.

  • Students applying for overseas leave must provide relevant documents, complete the guarantee letter provided by the school, and submit it for acknowledgment before purchasing air tickets.
  • Approval is subject to school management discretion.
  • Students planning to return to their home country for medical treatment must apply for leave and obtain school approval beforehand. They must seek letter from local doctors in Singapore for further treatment and travel overseas.
  • Upon return to Singapore, they must immediately submit original medical certificates with English translation.
  • Students who extend their leave or fail to report to school on time after the leave period without valid reason will be dealt with by the school discipline department upon their return.

Note: Home/Personal leave is not an entitlement and is entirely subject to Management’s approval at their discretion.

  • When students are absent from class due to medical reasons, they must submit the original Medical Certificate within 3 days from their sick leave and complete the Leave Application Form.
  • Only medical certificates issued by registered clinics, polyclinics, or hospitals will be accepted.
  • Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) certificates will not be accepted unless they are issued by registered clinics or institutions affiliated with the Ministry of Health (MoH).
  • Any late submission will be rejected. Foreign medical certificates without English translation will be rejected, and the student’s leave will be voided and considered as absences.
  • Students under 18 may request letters from parents/guardians if unable to attend school due to being cared for at home, subject to management approval.

Students must

  • Abide at all times by the laws of regulatory bodies
  • Show conformance to school rules and make conscientious efforts in studies
  • Maintain proper conduct and self-discipline with no disruptive or inappropriate behavior
  • Follow ‘No Drug, Alcohol, and Tobacco’ and ‘No Gambling’ policies
  • Maintain regularity and punctuality
  • Dress decently and maintain proper grooming
  • Maintain and promote mutual respect
  • Comply with legal obligations regarding copyrights
  • Respect the rights and authority of school officials
  • Treat others fairly and considerately
  • Show respectful courtesy to staff and peers
  • Be responsible for self-discipline while on school property and during school activities
  • Adhere to school policies regarding harassment, violence, drugs, alcohol, tobacco, appropriate attire, and academic conduct

  • Stanfort Academy supports freedom of expression for both lecturers and students while respecting the rights of lecturers to teach and students to learn.
  • Classroom behavior that seriously interferes with the lecturer’s ability to conduct class or other students’ ability to learn will not be tolerated.
  • Lecturers have the authority to remove disruptive students from class on an interim basis. Students removed from class will not be allowed to sign attendance for that lesson and will be marked as ‘absent.’
  • Students engaging in disruptive classroom behavior may be subject to disciplinary action. Continued unacceptable behavior will result in written records and may be declared as ‘unsatisfactory performance/conduct’ when requested by relevant authorities such as ICA.

  • Stanfort Academy expects all students to be well-groomed and dress decently when on school premises.
  • Students must wear appropriate and modest clothing at all times.
  • Students required to wear uniforms must do so for every school day according to school rules. Shorts (Bermudas) and slippers are not allowed. No brightly dyed hair colors are permitted.
  • Students must maintain good personal hygiene, including clean shave requirements where applicable, and are not allowed to wear caps on school premises.
  • Verbal warning

  • Consultation sessions with school counsellor
  • Suspension or termination from course with no refund of fees paid
  • Expulsion with no refund of fees paid
  • For international students: Cancellation of Student Pass at ICA with no refund of fees paid.
